Our platform is dedicated to preserving Lebanon’s natural heritage, from the Mediterranean coast to the peaks of Mount Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. Lebanon’s unique ecosystems are home to diverse species, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. We invite nature enthusiasts, researchers, and professionals to help create a comprehensive and accessible database of Lebanon’s biodiversity, supporting efforts to protect the country’s rich ecosystems.

Why Document Lebanon’s Biodiversity

Lebanon harbors an extraordinary range of life — coastal wetlands, dense forests, arid regions, and high-altitude ecosystems. Yet many species remain undocumented and increasingly threatened. A national record is the first step toward protection.

Our Objectives

Build the most complete inventory of Lebanon’s species and habitats; support evidence-based conservation; foster partnerships between scientists, institutions, and citizens; and make biodiversity data openly accessible.

How We Work

We combine field surveys, citizen-science observations, expert validation, and open data tools. Each observation feeds into a peer-reviewed dataset that informs national policy and the Lebanon Red List Initiative.

Community Involvement

Anyone — students, hikers, professionals, and institutions — can contribute. Our network spans universities, NGOs, and protected-area managers across Lebanon, all united by the goal of safeguarding our natural heritage.
